Do you all think that the notch will be implemented on next year's iMac 27" and Macbook Air Replacement?

I'd love it if all iMacs & Macbooks had a uniform 3.5mm display border.

Likely no on the iMac and yes on the MacBook. The 24" iMac has a 1080p front-facing camera without a notch. The MacBook/Air replacement would have the same physical constraints as the 14/16" MacBook Pro.

As a desktop computer, I don't think iMac will get a notch. It's a design compromise that only makes sense on mobile devices.

Depends on bezel thickness and display depth. The iMac has the advantage of having a deeper chassis than the MacBook Display, so maybe they could fit the camera module inside a tiny bezel. My guess is it’ll have the same bezels as the 14” though which is plenty thick for a camera without a notch.

I think it makes less sense to include a notch on an iMac (where the chassis can be deeper to accommodate additional hardware) and more sense to include FaceID. Hoping for that instead of TouchID again, which would work the same way as approaching with an Apple Watch to unlock works now.

Well, I certainly hope that the 27 (or larger) iMac has no notch at all, but I am more concerned with the white bezel. I hope it keeps being black.

Having used the MBP M1 Pro for a day, I would prefer if the 27" iMac replacement has a notch. I much prefer the behavior of the menu bar when in full screen, with the notch. (The menu bar has its own space to appear each side of the notch, and doesn't keep sliding down over the full screen content if your cursor gets close to the top edge.)
