I love my Note 2 for a lot of reasons, including it's exceptional 5.5" screen, but one of the most surprising thing is how long the battery lasts. With the same usage I can get double the life with the Note 2 than I could with either the Galaxy S3 or the iPhone 4S (I can't speak for the iPhone 5 since I don't own one). It easily last me a full day without ever having to worry about it, which is good because I can't find a Samsung replacement battery anywhere. :)

Yes I agree.
I've yet to empty the battery on a full day of use.
I've never been able to do that on any iPhones.
Another thing about the Note II is that the charger works much faster.
When the phone is on it only takes about 4 hours for a full charge and about 2:30 if the phone is off.

Very happy with this phone.

Yup, best battery life ever. I don't know a single person who has been able to discharge the battery on a day's use. Heavy user or not.

Obviously don't remember nokia's of yesteryear lol I remember having to search for my chargerer because it'd been 5-7 days since I last used it. Lol

Is that even a smartphone?
I'm sure there are lots of phones that could go for days but I doubt they have the same kind of specs as the Note II.
You have to remember the screen is 5.5 inches and takes a lot of battery to run it.

But those phones were only used to make calls. If you use smartphones in the same way, you'll get much better battery life also.

Yesterday was my first full day with the phone and I tried to kill the battery to no avail. After 16.5 hours and almost 9 hours of screen on time I still had 16% of the battery charge left.

Question for you guys. If you use the Google Nav turn by turn with GPS on and plug it into a car charger, does your Note 2 still charge or is it draining battery? I could swear my Note 2 was using more power than my car charger could provide in this scenario and the percent meter actually went down. I only tried this once but want to confirm the behavior of other Notes.

I know my Galaxy SIII still charges when I use Google Nav. I would assume the Note II is the same.

I usually charge every 36 to 48 hours. First time I've turned off the battery percentage on a phone because I don't even have to monitor it.

Now that is what I want. I don't want to have to worry about it. Do you keep all your toggles on line WiFi and Bluetooth and LTE just for the hell of it? That would be nice. And screen brightness. And syncing everything all the time.

Yes the note 2 battery is exceptional. It is at least 25% more efficient than the S3 based on per unit mAh drain. If you are moderate user it goes for 3 days before needing a charge.

Me too! Too bad it's too big for me. I'm not gonna say I'm barely managing with my GS3 but any bigger would be stretching it.

I wish Motorola had gotten a chance at the Nexus and we'd have killer batteries. I guess there's always next year. Wireless charging is great and everything but if I had a choice between a huge battery like the RAZR MAXX HD or wireless charging it would be a pretty easy choice.

I keep all toggles on except for bluetooth. I dont think theres an option to even turn off LTE. Keep brightness around 40 to 50%. Also toggle on power saving mode when all im doing is browsing the web or checking emails.

I'm debating whether or not I should keep power saving mode on all the time with only the CPU power saving option checked. I never do anything taxing so I doubt I'd need it's full processing power. I guess I should test it out for a few days.

Yeah, CPU power saving is the only option I have checked off under settings as well. I read it just underclocks the CPU to 1.1 instead of 1.6GHz.

Very happy with the battery life on my Note 2 so far.

battery time: 14 hrs 18 mins
screen use: 4 hrs 12 mins

About 28% of battery left.

Better than my iPhone 4S.

Thanks. I just found a xda post about adding on screen buttons and disabling the capacitive buttons. I'm not sure if it was you that talked about that but if I get the note I would definitely do it.

Do you mind sharing please. Do you have to be running a custom ROM or just be rooted?

Actually, I'm just looking at my iPhone 4S now.

usage: 4 hrs 22 minutes
standby: 1 day 10 hrs

26% battery left. Bluetooth turned on all the time. My Note 2 has bluetooth turned off.

Not sure if usage is the same as screen time, but I'm pretty sure the on screen time is at least over 3 hours.

Man, I wish the Nexus 4 had that kind of battery life.

Yup. I'm looking forward to a Motorola Nexus.

Hey, maybe Google will fit it in the next Android OS update. :p

I'm not holding my breath. I'm guessing LG Nexus comes with crappy batteries.

If they released their charging orbs already maybe people wouldn't mind that as much! :p

(I'm still waiting on my Nexus 4 so I'm in no rush to get the orb)
