I noticed on ATT and Verizon websites that the prices of off-contract Notes 4 are different: $825 for ATT and $699 for Verizon. Anyone know what's this about? Also, while ATT says SD card can be up to 64GB, Verizon says up to 128GB. Wtf?

They all support 128GB microsdxc cards. AT&T just knows their customers will pay the higher price because they're idiots.

Bleh, I complained and they gave me $180 off mine but had to go to retentions with my complaint. Otherwise I told them the truth, I'd order a Tmobile one and use it on my account. I also complained about the locked bootloader, but the rep had no idea what I was talking about.

Nice blanket statement about ATT users though.

ATT is bootloader locked

Even if I pay full price?

Actually, I'm considering buying N4 just as a computing device, I'm not interested in cell phone part of it, I use a prepaid phone - fed up with contracts, and $8/mo. at 10c/min for voice is enough for me.

Is Verizon bootloader unlocked?

Yes, I believe both Verizon and att are boatloader locked in all scenarios, unless Verizon offers a developers edition. Att has never offered Dev edition Samsung. The note 3 was never cracked, so you'd have to assume the 4 will be the same

Verizon should offer a dev edition, it did with the note 3. Otherwise yeah both Verizon and ATT are locked bootloaders. ATT are scummy for doing that, but some of us have no choice but to use them for reception. I think I'll give up on rooting anyhow, it's just like with jailbreaking that it's more of a pita than it's worth as the vast majority of features I need have been released on Android. The glaring exception to that is a decent backup app/service that matches how incredible Apple's backup is.
