I love the Note II to death, especially the screen...yet I find myself wanting to go back to iPhone 5. I think the reasons are because I miss some features and apps of iOS, but I think the need to switch back is irrational. Am I crazy?

android will do that to you.....it's cool for awhile then you'll just want to go back to iPhone. Never fails.
The premise of your question implies one phone is immensely better than the other.....which in general simply isn't true.
If you find yourself preferring the iPhone, why is that a big deal? Use what you want/like to use. Don't succumb to the peer pressure of specs....
Can you share which features you miss? I'm curious to know what I might miss if/when I move to an Android phone.

IP5 can be jailbroken now. Try that and see if that holds you. I found that after jailbreaking my iPHone, my desire to buy an android phone has decreased by a lot. However, if all my iPHone apps and some jailbreak tweaks (still cant find something like activator and zephyr for android, i love gestures and swiping around) were on android, i would still have switched to android. As an OS i like it way more.
Both have good things about them. A lot of people here use multiple devices. I prefer Android and I use a Note 2 as my daily driver but I'll have a secondary phone just to mix it up every now and then.
I miss iMessage believe it or not.
I miss the mail app. I don't like how I had to set up my mail to forward to a gmail account, and even then my work e mail goes through a separate program. It's a convoluted setup. When I'm on my iPad, it sends e mail using my gmail name instead of my regular att.net e mail.
I miss Siri in the car. It's really hard to dial out with Google hands free. A lot of the time I have to dial before driving because Google Voice and S Voice just don't work at all.
I have a few apps I can't get on Android. Tweetbot comes to mind.
Tapatalk looks better on iOS.
On the other hand I love the screen and the pen on the Note II.
I also love being able to stream Netflix on the big screen at the gym.
I have NES and GBA roms, but never use them.
If you require those features you're missing I say go for it.
Until Apple offer an alternative to the Note, the iPhone 5 is pretty much the best bet you can go for now.

That depends on your requirements. I've sold my iPhone5 and iPad3 for a Nexus 4 & 7 which was the best move for me
Tapatalk sucks on iOS. At least on my iPhone. Featureless, terrible notification system and buggy. Like autocorrecting DOWN where I can't click...
Examples (purposely spelled wrong) autocorrect box is behind the camera icon. This is one app I'd really welcome an upgrade too, especially since I use it so much.
I think it looks and works better on Android. Side bar is useful but at the same time that's a function of screen size.

Btw OP I don't think your crazy. I prefer and iPhone as my daily driver even though I really like android. I can't tell you why exactly just more comfortable for me. All apps I use are available on both, I don't have a real Apple ecosystem so that's out....dunno just like it.

If you love the Note 2 to death i dont see why you feel the way you do. The Apps for each platform you can most likely fond something similar in the app stores. There are things Google has in the app store that Apple doesnt have, ...like Tasker to name one.
Not sure what features you miss so much on iOS that Android doesnt have. I sure didnt miss any since there was so much more Android does.
EDIT...not sure how long you have had your Note 2 so......
I use the main email app with Yahoo. It works so well for me that i deleted the actual Yahoo mail app because it was slow to load.
Not sure what your saying with Gmail but when i send something it sends it with my name with the address. I can use Gmail and the main email app seperate and i dont have to forward anything.
S Voice i dont use. Dont use Google Voice either(i assume you mean the app). I use a (in the car) a Motorola Roadster visor bluetooth device and Google Now works great handsfree to call out.
Tweetcastor is a great Twitter app as is Plume. Really there are a bunch of Twitter Apps. Falcon Pro is a new one that is .99 that looks real good. I used to use more than one but finally stuck with one which is Tweetcastor.

Tapatalk 2 on Android is great. Notifications never fail and it is an App i tried long ago(before T2 came out) and didnt think id have a use for it. I love it now.
You don't have to forward your email to gmail. I don't know why you thought that. The ios mail app is horrible, I don't know why you would miss it. It just got attachments and even now they are so limited.
I do the same. I want the new features of Android because I find iOS stagnant but after a day, some times a week, may be a month, I ALWAYS want to go back to Apple. I think I am actually dependent on their ecosystem now.
If you have no problems using a plastic phone then I don't see a reason to go for a smaller cramped display and a stale boring OS that is less innovating than android. and wasting your cash. Also having two phones just so you can use android and ios is just a waste of money.
I don't get it either. Like I said...pretty irrational huh? I think I just miss the ecosystem which is ridiculous because I'm on my Note now and I still love this phone. Am I Apple brainwashed?
Like i said i dont know how long you have had the Note 2 but it will pass if your only in it a couple weeks.
When i first switched it even took me a few weeks or so to 100% leave the iPhone alone. That was due to still earning what Android does which got better as i went along.
I would still pick up my iPhone and use it but it waned in these weeks and when i was used to how things were like having seperate home screens and app screens, figured out there were different launchers and texting apps and how i could customize them, etc. After 3-4 weeks, i finally put the iPhone away for good. It went in its box and eventually it got sold but it took a long time to get sold because it was a original and it immaculate condition.
I have a Mini now along with a N7 and using the Mini frustrates me because it has no back button. That is the single most important button on Androd
Just going in the App store with the Mini is frustrating without that back button. Right now i dont think id ever get another iPhone but you never know. They would have to make some real drastic changes and Android keeps chugging forward.
The Note 2 is huge, I was in Best Buy the other day and took a look at one. Yeah the screen is big and all, but it just doesn't feel like a phone, I might as well be caring around an iPad or something..
Same thing happened with me. Had fun with my Note for a few days and then I returned it and went back to my iPhone 5. Now that iOS is jailbroken, I am completely satisfied.
I used the Note 2 for 2 weeks as my primary phone. Went back to the iPhone 4S.
Too big as a phone. Too small as a tablet. Doing simple things is a hassle on the Note 2. Missed the simplicity of the iPhone.
Now my Note 2 is just sitting on my shelf for the last 2 months. Going to sell it and use that money to buy a Galaxy Note 8" tablet when it comes out.
