might be a long shot but I'll ask anyway..

Is there an app that'll let me and my wife add items to a list (mainly for shopping) via voice, and sync across android and iOS?

Eg 'hey Siri/ok Google - add shampoo to my shopping list'

If push comes to shove, android voice support is more important as that's what my wife uses - I can manage by opening an app if needed but she won't want to.

Just want to literally make a note while wandering around the house and noticing you grabbed the last toilet roll or whatever

I just looked...

Google Keep, Wunderlist, and Todoist all supposed "OK Google".

Here's a IFTTT action that will bring iOS Reminders into Todoist so you can use Siri:

https://ifttt.com/connect/todoist/ios_reminders

There's probably some other channels at IFTTT for a lot of the other todo apps that will let you integrate with Reminders on iOS. I can't think of an app that will do this itself that is also Android compatible though.

So currently on iOS, Siri will only write directly into reminders?

Not the end of the world, I can play around on my end as long as the android side is supported without fuss

Siri writes to Notes too, but there isn't a channel for it over at IFTTT. Writing to Reminders would work like your example. You'd just have to make a new recipe for every list.

There's a rumor of third-party support coming in iOS 10. It's not been on Android for that long either.

But yeah, good luck. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be useful for someone here.

I can't see how to select which reminder list to take from in Ifttt.

Edit: OK found a recipe that lets me define which list in reminders to monitor and which project in todoist to add it to

I was unaware of using Siri in a unique way. But now I know and thanks to you for posting the question. The answers seem to be helpful and I am surely gonna try this.
