I’m using a iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd gen). I used for many years, Android tablets. On the tablets I was able to create widgets on my homescreen for notes. I’m using now and was using then, One Note. I’ve tried this with Note, Notability and Good Notes but couldn’t get it to work. I want to be able to have a specific note or notes available on my homescreen or even the notification screen, so I can go directly to that note without having to go through opening the related app then find the note, then open it. I use these notes for motivation, goals and accountability.
I understand iOS and Android approach widgets differently. Not better or worse, just different.

With OneNote you can pin certain notes in the "recent notes" list and they will show up in the widgets.

There are various (Notification Center) widgets available which have the option to show recent notes and add new notes.

Some options might be:

Cheatsheet - my favorite

Copied

CLIP+

SnipNotes

Apple Notes

Google Keep

Do definitely check with the developers first if it offers this lock feature for one note. Or you could ofcourse only use that widget to show that if you don't use the app/widget for anything else. This then won't work with copy/paste app such as Cheatsheet, Copied, SnipNotes, CLIP+ I think.

Ofcourse there are also various reminder widgets out there which might be an option as well.
See also the old iOS8 Notification Center widget topic which has quite a few listened. I'm not sure though if all still work in iOS11 and on iPad or if they are even in the App Store so definitely check the App Store links to find out when they were last updated and what devices they support.
