They only reviewed the 2TB model w 12/19 cores so no comments on the 512 SSD issue. They give it an excellent rating overall but have some interesting comments. A notable one is they found that Apple has slowed down the performance of the M2Pro a bit from its maximum capability for the sake of longer battery life and/or less noise. Not clear if that also applies to the 16" as they haven't yet reviewed it.

I hope that they didnt water down on-battery performance.....that has been one of the strengths of macbooks...

The review already tested that. It suggests the 2 more e-cores help the new 14" in efficiency despite the M2 Pro consuming more power when under load. And then Apple seems to let the chip run hot (close to 100 degree C) and keep the fan speed at minimal, this implies less battery wasted in spinning the fans.

The end result is this full unbinned M2 Pro matches the previous binned base M1 Pro by just 1%, and has 18% better life than the 14" M1 Max 24 GPU core.

Happy to see such good results with the WiFi 6E speeds! Finally for the first time in a decade, we are at last getting a speed increase to wireless transfers, and about 2x to boot! And also the blazing fast performance of the 2TB drive. 7700 MB's! Love it
