Only thing I miss on macbook is the Notepad++. I especially loved syntax highlighting part. Notepad++ gives flexibility to define your your custom syntax highlighting language.

Is there any text writing pad which can allow to define a custom syntax highlighting language? I tried many like atom, textmate and more but I couldn't find a way to make my own custom highlighting syntax language. It was so easy on Notepad++.

Please help!

I second the recommendation for BBEdit. Writing a codeless language module isn't too bad, particularly if you find a good example that you can emulate. (She says from experience…)

Have you tried BBEdit? The best text editor i've ever used, on any platform. Syntax highlighting for numerous languages built in, and you allows you to create custom highlighters from scratch via the codeless language module (link below).

Freeware, or 1-off purchase for extra features if you need these.

Thank you so much.
Is there any guidance available on net to follow on how to write Codeless Language Module?

UltraEdit for Mac is the closest alternative to Notepad++ on Mac and it's my go to editor. Much prefer it to Sublime Text or Visual Studio Code
