Notepad to HTML... mac version?

Hi, my gf uses notepad to write some simple html and just saves and renames the file to .html

She recently told me she can't do this on her mac. She tried changing the extension for a file but it wouldn't work. Is there a simple way to do this ?

Text edit should work as long as you are working in plain text mode. If she's looking for something free and simple like notepad, have her download textwrangler.

I second TextWrangler. I got me through my HTML classes.

I did a quick test and it did let me save it as a .html. I'm sure she'll be happy.

try textmate.it is one of the best text editing apps evar in my opinion
