Notes app is crashing since updating to iOS 10. It works temporarily after a fresh restart but crashes after some time. Could it be related to low memory?
I have got around 200 notes..mostly all text and never had any issues on iOS 9. Anyway to check how much space Notes take? it's not listed under Storage Usage.

Anyone else having Notes app crashing and how to report it to Apple?

You can report it @ bugreport.apple.com

I have 137 notes in iCloud and just had Notes crashing on me as well, even though I have not lost any freshly entered text in the process. Should be a bug and will hopefully be fixed in a next iOS update.

So is the Notes app working fine after reinstalling from the app store? Also after reinstalling, do the existing notes get restored or you have to do iTunes backup?
Notes and other stock apps only show up in the app store on iPhone not in iTunes, so can't keep a back-up copy for future.
Right now Notes app is unusable.. constantly crashing. If reinstalling the app resolves this, then don't have to wait until the next iOS update.

I had the same issue. Resolved it by toggling it off in iCloud, then turning it back on. I believe Apple mentioned this in their release notes as a workaround.

So is Apple aware of Notes app crashing and which release notes they mentioned?

I'm having the same problem with the Notes App crashing. I really want to know if turning the toggle off/on on iCloud will fix this error. I really don't want to lose all my notes.

No crashing here with 1498 notes of all types (also with images and even just the shared notes in iOS 10). iCloud syncing and heavy use of the Notes app on the Mac (El Capitan).

When toggling off Notes in iCloud it says all notes will be deleted. So when it's toggled on back again, do all notes get restored and more importantly, does it resolve crashing?

You shouldn't lose your notes if they are in iCloud (they just get removed from your phone until you enable iCloud again and they would be back on the phone).

I can confirm that turning the toggle on/off worked for me. I closed the app down and relaunched, and the notes downloaded instantly.

Thanks, it fixed the Notes app crashing but did lose a few recent notes which were not synced because the app crashed and there was not indication that those weren't synced.

If Apple knew that there was a problem with iCloud sync after upgrading to iOS 10 and turning it off and then back on fixed it, then they should have automatically done this as part of the update process itself or at least inform users about potential problem and its solution. I followed all the iOS 10 news and features but nowhere it was mentioned.

Fortunately, only a few notes were lost, but still when users come to reply on certain features, Apple should have better informed during the upgrade and not just in the developer notes.
