Quick question for those of you that use your iPad in meetings to take notes. Do you use the onscreen keyboard or BT keyboard or the dock? Not that it's an issue but everytime I pull my ipad our I get bombarded with questions!!

What program do you use to take your notes? Thanks!!

I use my iPad to take notes in my lecture classes, and I just use the on screen keyboard. I've gotten quite good at it. I don't wanna have to carry around extra junk.
Normally I just use the apple notes app....imagine that.
But if I require audio recording I use sound paper. It's awesome.
And I just got smartnote, but it's a little weird, and I haven't used it yet it a class(saving in for math classes this fall).

I don't do a lot of note taking but I use MaxJournal, partly because it's simple and elegant but also because it doesn't require me to go through the steps of creating, naming, and saving notes as separate files. It just opens a new journal page every day, and you can find stuff quickly either by scrolling to the date or doing a keyword search.

There are a lot of good apps now — it's really a matter of personal preference.

there goes another 99 cents! Lol!

I've kinda played with it a bit, and you might be right. Its not that great. I might just take notes on paper, and then just put them in the app to use for studying later. I bet taking the time to actually put it in the app after I've got it on paper, will actually be studying. But as far as note taking goes, this app kinda sucks.
Don't buy smartnote

Oh I only bought it after watching the video of the next version, and haven't played much with it. It will work well for a couple of things I need to get done. Which, probably isn't heavy duty note taking, but my teen might surprise me and use it for that... Time will tell.

So for 99 cents I'm pleased! The price is going up too with the next version to 2.99, so I figured it was a good sale price! :D

The update is out, and I got it to the kids iPad ts morning. She is out there playing with it and organizing her notes. Notes of what i dont know.... LOL!

But I think the feature of being able to add just a page from PDFs will be helpful for here for school, i just need to sort it all out. I just realized i need to check something on there. Hmmm....

Anyway, it is the first one of the note taking apps she has spent any time in at all, which is a good thing.

I just need to find a good outliner for her. I'd love a version of Inspiration for the iPad, but considering they just are launching a web flash based version, i dont think there is a lot of help for that right now..... I guess i should go see if pages has outlining huh?

ETA: i just downloaded Idea Sketch for free, it turns a mind map/flowchart into an outline you can paste into anything! She will be excited out that one! You can beat free, and the outline feature is what i was looking for!
