Since about October 20th or so I have not been able to see or sync my latest Notes on icloud.com. Notes are syncing between iphones and ipads, but not with the web app.

Here is what I have done so far:
- Checked and unchecked the sync toggle for Notes on my Phone
- restarted the phone
- verified the phones and the web app are all signed into the same icloud account (I can see notes older than 10/20, just not any new ones)
- Created a test note on the phone - it did sync to my other iphones and iPads, but NOT icloud.com
- Created a test note on icloud.com - it synced to no one

Any ideas? It seems like the data is in the cloud, since the other iDevices can see it, but for whatever reason the web app isn't syncing. It appears to be syncing other apps like mail and stuff, just not Notes.

I need the web app because I am using PCs in addition to iDevices and would like to access the notes on my PC too. I tried to install iCloud for Windows, but its integration with Outlook 2016 is apparently broken right now, so I get into an endless loop when I try to run that installation.

Update: I fired up my old macbook air and it is only syncing the same notes that are on icloud.com NOT any of the notes created on our iDevices. The MBA is running El Capitan version 10.11.1 I am beginning to think this is a Notes "upgrade" issue. I don't have the option to upgrade the notes on any of my devices anymore ( I thought I already did it) but I guess maybe the MBA didn't upgrade.

Anyone know how to force the Notes upgrade once the option has gone away? Or how to tell you have the "new" Notes?

OK - I just spent an hour on the phone with Apple Support. The answer is that the Notes upgrade broke syncing between icloud sub-accounts and main accounts.

So here is how it works: Any icloud account that is the "main" account on a device (iphone, ipad, macbook, etc) gets New Notes. The sub icloud accounts on the same device are stuck on the "old" notes. And they can not sync together anymore. So if your family runs like mine, where everyone has their own icloud account and then syncs Notes by adding the others icloud accounts under Mail,Contacts,Calendars you will not be able to see all the notes created by the "host" device that has the icloud account as its "main" account.

Surprised that I am the only one who has seen this issue so far. I figured more folks would run their icloud accounts like us, where everyone has their own for each device and then a "shared" account for notes, contacts, etc.

My only solution according to Support is to "wait until Apple fixes it" and in the meantime be aware that when they DO fix it, THEY will decide the override rules for how all the multiple instances of non-sync'd notes get overwritten. Super.

Whelp, I guess I am off to find an alternative to Apple for Notes syncing. Sigh. Makes me worried for when they decide to upgrade Calendar or Contacts at some future date.

This is the kind of issue that I expect when changes are made to ANY services and it's why I don't jump in until the dust settles.

I'm not necessarily happy that I'm often right.

yeah, i just didnt see threads and posts popping up here indicating the new notes were a problem. El Cap and iOS 9 have been out long enough you would think the issue would be more visible, so i am not sure how long i should have waited before upgrading.

Oh well, I just bought a year subscription to Evernote and have migrated all my families notes there.
