I have a feeling they won't sync until I have El Capitan on my mac, but for various reasons I don't want to try the beta yet. Is there anyway to sync iOS 9 notes on iPhone to mac 10.9.? It would greatly help my workflow. Thanks!

Notes have always used a form of email IMAP to sync. This predates iCloud and Apple is finally updating it to true iCloud in iOS9 and El Capitan. Once you convert them to the 'new' iCloud format they will not sync with the old IMAP formats.

In El Cap it warns you that the new notes are incompatible with the old notes. So if you create a new note on iOS9/El Cap, it will not appear on devices running older versions of Notes.

You have a few choices:

- Wait for the official El Cap release and upgrade then
- Upgrade to El Cap beta immediately
- Downgrade to iOS 8.4 immediately
