Notification actions differ between 5 and 5S

So I have an old iPhone 5 and my current device, an iPhone 5S, both updated to iOS 10. What I've noticed is that the iPhone 5 has more options as to what I can do with notifications when I swipe them to the left than my iPhone 5S does. Here's what I can do with GroupMe notifications on the iPhone 5:


And here is the same app notification on the iPhone 5S:


If I hit View I get the options to Reply and Like, but that adds an extra step and makes replying from the lock screen or notification center more of a hassle. I see similar things happening with my mail, messages, and other apps: I have the option to reply, archive, etc. from the notification on my iPhone 5, while I just get view and clear on the iPhone 5S. I've tried turning off Touch ID and that hasn't changed anything; I've looked through notification settings and nothing seems like it would affect this. Does anyone have any idea what I'm missing? I have no idea why these options would be different between the two phones.

Just a shot in the dark here, but could it have anything to do with the 5 not having a SIM card inserted but the 5S does per your pictures and that ATT has some sort of restriction or is limiting some functions? I could be completely wrong though.

I don't think so; the SIM was in the 5 until a few days ago and the 5 has been on iOS 10 since the public beta.

I wonder if it's a progression toward what 64-bit supports (and 32-bit might not) and/or what 3D Touch does. On 3D Touch devices all those functions are accessible via 3D Touch and not even a swipe. For more recent 64-bit devices it seems like the 3D Touch is simulated though the swipe and use of the "View" option. And then for the outlier older 32-bit devices it seems like the old behavior is still there with just having the options available with a swipe. I'm not really sure if it might have something to do with some things being implemented with 64-bit framework/libraries where some things might not be available for 32-bit devices, or something else of that nature.

interactive notifications are not supported on A6 devices, but the trade off for A7 and above devices without touch ID is that for whatever stupid reason, you have to press view. I like view for messages where it is truly better but for other apps it sucks.
