Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone is currently using a mail/sms/missed call etc. notification app that they would recommend?

I downloaded Notifier 2.1 by Spektro from Cydia yesterday... it seemed pretty cool and I liked it alot - but then I had a new sms icon in my taskbar that wouldn't go away... so that kind of turned me off from that app. Same problem happened to me again today - so now I'm looking for another.

Any suggestions? If it's not a taskbar notification app and it's one of those lock screen apps I'll take the suggestion as well... just looking for an app that isn't bugged.

Thanks,
Tommy

statusnotifier for status bar notifications + intelliscreen for lockscreen notifications. The perfect combo.

Don't bother with Intelliscreen for lock screen notifications, use Homescreen 2.0.
I never got homescreen 2.0 to work... and even if it did work properly, I'd still go with intelliscreen - it offers many more features, including being able to read whole texts and emails on the lockscreen (and mark them as read without having to go into the app).

It may have more fetures, but it's buggy, and you have to pay for it ;)

Where abouts is homescreen?

I think they have it up in Cydia, but you can download it from various places and SSH it :)

Thanks for the suggestions. So statusnotifier and homescreen aren't buggy?

I like statusnotifier because its not in your face. Your taskbar will have an indicator.

When I used intelliscreen my phone slowed down and I didn't care for it. SOmetimes messages wouldn't read when I swipe.

Get it and try it and play with it for a while. Everybody has an opinion and only you can make that choice.

I might give it a second chance then, by the way do you know howmuch the full version is?

Another vote for Homescreen. Works beautifully. However, I would like to override apples' pop-ups on the lockscreen, since they simply cover up Homescreens notifications. But as I understand, the only way to stop this is by setting a passcode lock.

I have been loving an app that doesn't seem to be getting the recognition it deserves: MobileLog, formerly iLog. Available from the iClarified and iXtension repos.

It does only notify of missed calls and SMSs, but it does it with a configurable nag tone/vibrate that does not require you to pick up your phone and look at it. A Godsend for me.

The main feature of this app is a much more detailed call/SMS log that includes durations and lets you sort by all/missed/sent/received. That part costs €5 after 5 days IIRC; the nag part is free, and more valuable for me, but I bought it and gladly.

I like LockDockBar, but it's very simple. It doesn't provide repeat notifications.
