Notification centre - auto clear?

hey,

is it possible to have the notification centre clear it's alerts after X amount of time? now, when i view it i see old items, or stuff that's just not relevant (i mean, what's the use seeing the 5 latest downloads?)

I don't believe there are options for notification time periods, but I believe there are options on how many notifications for each application in the notification center, similar to iOS.

thats a shame. even having the ability to control how many notifications were shown would have been *some* solution (not a fixed number like now).
