iPhone Notification Centre

Ok, so I hope I’m not being dense here, but when swiping down on the lock screen to see notifications, how do you close this list without unlocking the phone? I don’t seem to be able to have a quick glance at them and then dismiss from the lock screen?

Any advice please!
