Hi,
I am new to this forum so this may have already been answered, or at least I hope so. I have the iPhone 14 Pro and when I updated the iOS from iOS 16 to iOS 17, I developed problems with the notification sounds for my 3rd Party Apps. I do not have many 3rd Party Apps, and the one that has been affected is the app for CBS Sports.
What has happened is that the default sound that used to play where there was a score update for the teams that I follow has stopped, and all there is now is a mechanical sounding clunk sound. The volume is very low so it is easy to miss the sound notification. I have gone to Apple Support several times but they do not know how to fix it. We have done the forced reset, but we have never done a complete reset to put the phone back to factory settings. I know that this is a known issue because I have seen on the discussion threads associated with the Apple support board that many people have this problem.
Please note that I only want the default sound and despite going into "SETTINGS" and then "NOTIFICATIONS" the "SOUNDS" switch is on but when you press on it nothing happens. There seems to be just no way to select a sound for this or any other app.
If someone has experienced this problem and has been able to fix it, I would greatly appreciate you posting the step by step process on what to do. Thank you in advance for your help!
