Hi,

I have just switched back to iPhone after 4 years in the Android wilderness.

One thing that I can’t figure out is notifications.

On my Android, if I dismissed a notification the badge on the app icon would also be reset, but it seems on my new iPhone, when I dismiss notifications the app badge remains and I have to open the app to clear it.

Is this how it works or am I missing something?

Thanks

Heck, I'm new to an iPhone and I too struggle to even clear notifications. Sometimes I can sometimes I can't. Sometimes badges reset and sometimes it is exactly as you said. Still trying to figure them out. You are not alone bud.

So I just discovered how to clear notifications or mute or different things easily. On Android to clear one from the screen I would flick it to the right. It would reset badge counters too. On iPhone I just learned last night to flick to the left! Fling to the right just brings the whatever that screen is called with all the widgets. But fling to the left and you get options including clear. Gave myself a face slap after learning that. Only took 4 days. No it doesn't reset badge counters. (Really wish it would!) But still makes clearing notifications for me a lot easier. You may have figured this out already if so you are faster than me. LOL
