Yesterday morning my dog sitter lost my dog after letting him out unsupervised in a non gated backyard. (Best sitter ever, right I know) (6:30am)
I was notified by text and a push notification from the Rover app. (7:41am)
I drove to the sitters house and joined them looking for my dog. They asked if I received any calls from animal control and I said no. (8:00am)
After walking around the area I decided to double check if I've received anything and notification center revealed I had a missed call at 6:58am, turns out my dog wandered to a nearby hotel and they kept watch of him. I was able to rescue him. (8:15am). I'm so thankful the hotel held on to my dog for that long, especially with it being a 15 degree morning.
Later in the day I was looking through my phone and also saw I had a voicemail from the hotel around the same time and they texted me but it went to the Unknown Senders area. This wasn't in notification center.
Aside from Rover and the relay text about my dog being lost, my iPhone 11 Pro Max never made a sound, vibrated or had any information on the lock screen. (this makes me appreciate the notification light on my Samsung work phone) I checked the Verizon call filter app, doesn't appear its blocked anything or considered this well known hotel to be spam.
The notification settings are completely stock along with ringtone. The only setting I have is DND from 12am to 6:30am. I do not have a Apple Watch and I'm on 13.1.3. With 3-4 bars of Verizon LTE service and fully charged.
Any ideas what could have caused this and what I can change to ensure this miss doesn't happen again? In its current state I can't trust my iPhone for emergencies.
