Been trying to. change the tone setting on my iPhone 11 for calendar alerts.I have failed to achieve it I just want another tone for the appointment I the calendar.
Does one have to stay with the default one.i have selected different tones from the list in the sounds section. But failed.
Any thoughts on this matter Please.
Many Thanks.

If you're talking about the built-in iOS Calendar app…and changing the sound under Settings>Sounds & Haptics>SOUNDS AND VIBRATION PATTERNS>Calendar Alerts doesn't "stick"…then you may have some corrupted file on the iPhone.

The only way I've ever been able to fix such an issue is to use my Mac to restore iOS and NOT restore from a backup…as the backup would always bring the issue with it.

Thanks for your reply
Could you elaborate a little further on your reply.Im not very technical guy
Sure thing.

By example, a couple of years back I had an iPad that wouldn't ring when a Facetime call came in. No setting or ringtone choice would make it work. I backed up the iPad to my computer and then I did a full restore of iOS on it. Before restoring all the settings and apps from the backup I logged into iCloud and Facetime on it. I tried a Facetime call to it and the ringing worked.

So, I restored everything to the iPad from the backup I made and guess what…the ring wouldn't work again. I actually think I went through the process a couple of times to check.

What I ended up having to do was save everything on the iPad (only photos, really, because they weren't syncing to iCloud at the time), do the restore of iOS again (erasing the iPad), and then going through all the tedious setup of email accounts and installing the apps I needed. After that, the ring worked.

What this means is the problem carried over from the backup…so I had to abandon the backup.
