iPhone Notification transparency - almost unreadable after upgrade

After upgrading my Xs to iOS 13, my push notification badges are so transparent they are barely readable my lock screen.

I can’t find where to change this, any help?

Sure! It almost does a “fade in” it looks light and darkens a second or two after initially waking up the phone. It might not seem like an issue but I have poor vision and it’s definitely different.
