I'm currently running latest version of Big Sur and since updating to Big Sur, my dual display setup is wonky. I have correctly chosen my primary display by moving the white menu bar to that display in settings but all notifications that pop up are doing so on the other display which is currently not the one I chose as the primary display.

Also, I've noticed that once I disconnect from the external display and reconnect to it the following day, some apps like Mail won't show their application window on the display. I'm then forced to go back into settings, swap primary displays to my laptop and then back again to the external display for it to work again.

Both of these were never issues I had on Catalina. Anyone have a work around at least for the notifications bug?

I have the same issue. I have a MBA connected to several external displays. The notifications show up on the laptop screen even though I have another monitor as the assigned primary monitor. I haven't been able to identify a solution, it's annoying and I hope Apple is able to fix this bug.

I had this too and just found a solution somewhere else. Simply click on the date / time on the primary display and Notification Center will now be active there including future notifications.
