Hi all, this problem has been bugging me since the launch of iOS 10. When I was on the phone (whether it was FaceTime Audio or regular call) my notifications (texts) would show up on the screen and I could read them WHILE on the phone WHILE it's locked. Since iOS 10, they do not appear.

It just makes a noise and the screen lights up. I have to unlock the phone and open the Messages App to see them. I've tried to search around and I'm not really finding a solution. I've come to the conclusion that this may just be how Apple has designed it now. I really hate that they don't appear on the screen like they used to on the phone. I've checked my settings and they're all what they used to be. Any ideas?

It's just how it is in iOS 10 so far it seems. I see notifications at times while on a call, but not at other times--potentially when the phone is unlocked or locked is what might be behind it. Best workaround so far is to essentially just use Notification Center to look at notifications that might have come in.

Gahh! I was afraid of that. I hate it. Thanks for the reply. Now I know it's not just my phone.

Tried changing from banner to alert?

Just did that. Will report back.

Curious, are you saying you see notifications appearing while you are in a call (whether the phone is locked or unlocked)?

No, I don't see them at all. The phone makes a sound and the screen will turn on but the message will not show up on the lock screen. I have to physically go unlock the screen and look.

Right, I was more wondering if the others who are suggesting various things are actually seeing those notifications themselves.

I'm a little curious if anything related to this might have changed for anyone with iOS 10.3. I haven't really gotten a chance to play around with notifications during calls, so I haven't been able to notice if it's still the same as before or if perhaps something is different now.

I just wanted to say that I still have this issue. Anytime I'm on the phone and my phone is locked and I get a notification, the phone lights up but there's no notification. I have to unlock the phone to see them.

Seems like that's just how it is in iOS 10.

I'm having the same issue....texts don't appear on lock screen while on phone. Does Apple have a fix yet?
