Today I was using my iPad to give a presentation and two times banner notifications popped up. Is there any way to temporarily turn off/disable all notifications without going into the notifications setting for each app?

I think they should put an option to temporarily switch off all notifications in the next update. Till then your best option is airplane mode.

Airplane mode is a good idea. Thank you.

I agree, though, that this should be an option as there are probably many business/academic uses where you would not want the interruptions of notifications but still want or need wifi/3G access.
