For some reason I no longer get notifications when my wife sends me iMessages.

I’ve checked every single setting everywhere. The Settings app, do not disturb, her contact card, you name it, I’ve checked it several times. (Do Not Disturb/Focus is turned on overnight, but no other time.)

I don’t get notifications for her on my phone, or my Mac, or my iPad. It’s like they’ve been turned off somewhere.

I get notifications for other messages that arrive.

My wife is a VIP in Mail, and is pinned in the Messages app.

Help!

You probably have inadvertently muted her conversations. Swipe left on her conversation. You should see a "bell". Tap it.

OMG you’re a star! Thanks. And how is this even possible to do? Why isn’t there some absolutely ****ing huge icon alongside her name indicating that she‘s muted? She’s pinned in Messages. How is it even possible for somebody who’s pinned to be muted? Isn’t that like giving somebody a megaphone and then stuffing a sock into the end of it?
