Several weeks ago I was getting message and email notifications on my iphone 12 pretty much 100% of the time. Then with each succeeding update to ios, I began missing more and more till now on ios 14.4.1 I rarely get ANY at all.

Am I the only one experiencing this bad a problem? I am not exaggerating. I RARELY get a notification at all anymore. Just every once in awhile and I am so sick of it.

I don't think it's a carrier problem. We get messages. We just don't get notifications on our iPhones all the time. I expect if it was a carrier problem, we wouldn't get the messages.

If you're talking about iMessage notifications, there are a few threads about that, and it seems notifications fail to show up if you have the Messages app open on another device in some cases, and also if you lock the phone without exiting the Messages app first. I haven't experienced the issue myself though.

Has anyone had notifications sounds on their iPhone but no notifications since iOS 14? the past 6 months or so I have received a few fb message tone but no message was there and also the default text tone which isn’t my text tone, mine is set to popcorn and no message or notification to indicate anything to cause the noise. At first I thought it was someone else’s phone or I was going crazy but it’s mine please tell me I’m not the only one? Have already checked that none of my apps set to sounds only. It’s only very occasionally probably because I have my phone on silent most of the time but I just wanted to know if it was update related to the iOS14 or the iPhone 11.

Lately, on occasion, I've received the notification and red circle badge a few minutes before the actual message arrives. This is with Apple Message app on iPhone 12 mini.

I get the occasional missing email notification, but usually spark works well. Texts come through just fine.

I have been having this issue for months now. It is a widespread issue. There is now even a non-Apple website dedicated to tracking Apple's pathetic (failed) attempts at fixing it as well as documenting how the problem has been evolving. It continues to persist through various iOS updates now, and continues to exist even on the latest 14.5 RC update.

It is NOT a carrier problem.

It is either a local iOS issue or a cloud (Apple server) issue with iMessages, or possibly both.

The bad news is that once it effects you, it tends to always persist despite all kinds of troubleshooting people have tried... so, get used to living with this until Apple finally fixes it.

Do you ever receive the sound but no notification?
