I have noticed that while I have a location based reminder in my phone, the reminders app is constantly finding my position. How much does this drain a regular iPhone 4 battery?

Thank you.

Sometimes NC, Sometimes PA
Minimally, I'd bet. Your phone always knows where you are anyway. Even when you have no apps running at all. Passing that information along to one more app probably makes little to no difference at all.

Now, leaving Bluetooth discoverability on all the time, or traveling abroad without an international plan of some sort, and letting the phone spin its wheels trying to find a cell tower? That'll wear you down.

I asked Siri to create a reminder for me this morning for when I get back home. When I got to work, I noticed that the location services arrow displaying and my battery went from 95% to 87% in about 30 minutes. Needless to say, I turned off the location based reminder.

It's significant. You'll notice that with an active location-based reminder, GPS will turn on in most stock apps, including Safari, Messages, and even Settings. This must be Apple's way to recalibrating your location, assuming that you'll use one of those apps when you get to a new location
