Notifications no longer grouped together

Guys, how to I get my notifications to group together like in iOS 14? Right now, I'm getting emails, whatsapp messages etc but they're all showing as single notifications, and not all of them show unless i open the app itself.

They will normally show as single notifications until there's some number of them (usually four or five) then they'll group. You're not seeing this behavior?

Make sure Notification Grouping is set to automatic or on under the app itself in Settings -> Notifications.

I've got them set to auto (but it seems you can no longer group all apps under auto just from the notifications setting itself). But even if I get 5 whatsapp notifications or emails, they're not grouping.

And will 2 messages, emails etc no longer group? Does it have to be 4/5 or more?
