Hey all

Recently, all my notifications stopped syncing. By sycning I mean if I read an iMessage on my phone, my watch still shows it as unread. Then I noticed the sane thing on my iPad. Tons of messages I read on my phone still show as unread on my iPad.

Anyone know how to fix this? Both my iPad and iPhone are on the current version of iOS 13 and my watch is current as well.

Thanks!

iCloud syncing is probably the most persistent issue currently. They really mucked things up with the service in 13. Different services are affected and different accounts, so not everyone will see the issue and some won’t know they have an issue. But with yours, simplest first. Restart all your devices and wait a day to see if they start syncing, some of these are intermittent and temporary. With the watch I find this happening frequently, especially with SMS messages. If a the restart doesn’t help there are a couple other things, one more drastic than the other. Under your iCloud account you can turn the Messages toggle off and then back on. This will force a sync that may kickstart things into working again. The other, more drastic, move would be to sign out of iCloud and back in. Again that will force a sync that will hopefully persist.

I’ve had to sign out of iCloud for such issues more in the weeks since 13’s release than I have in several years prior and I hesitate to recommend it because it’s such a hassle to get everything straight again, and it hasn’t fixed every such issue I’ve had. I would stick to the restart and the toggle setting if necessary, otherwise I‘d be inclined to wait for the next update.

Thank you. I forgot to come back here and follow up. I think resetting all my devices helped. At least it did between my watch and phone. I haven't checked my iPad yet.
