iPhone 14 Pro Max Notificationstyle different Homescreen\Always on Display ?

So I selected the notification style to be numbered (not stacked or list).

And it sure works when pulling down notifications while unlocked.

But at the Always On Display it shows then still as stacked(not numbered).

Is this just me or do other people find that a bit confusing ?
