Has iOS 14 always had this stupidity, or is it new for iOS 14.2? I didn't notice it in 14.1, and didn't install 14.0 or 14.0.1.

Play music from the local library, pull Notification Center down and look at the Now Playing widget. It has the album art badged with an Apple Music icon in the lower right corner. The album art is apparently now clickable, so you click on it. And iOS brings you to the Apple Music Browse window with nothing selected. But it is apparently convinced I like rap and hip hop, because this Browse window, that's all that's in it.

I'm not interested in streaming, I have it in the local library.

Related: how do you get AM to re-run the likes selection bubbles? Do you have to turn the subscription off and back on again?

Unless you have recently streamed from AM, that is the default icon you will see. When you stream, it should she you the last artist.
You're not answering the question.

I *never* stream from AM. I only have a subscription because VZW gives it away for free. As long as Apple requires iCloud Music Library for even basic functionality, I really see no reason to bother with AM other than the occasional "what was that song...". I like my local library and see no reason to give AM access to destroy it for a fourth time by replacing tracks.

The local library is for music.

I could accept it opening to the Downloaded folder... but whyinhell does it open to Browse? The track that's playing when I did this to test it is a movie soundtrack, not rap or hip hop. Is this a bug or by design?
