I've seen a lot of posts about developers introducing apps onto Silicon, however isn't there also a Catalyst for Intel? Why aren't these apps appearing through Catalyst? Most of the Mac user base won't be upgrading until their machines break or something. I feel like in addition to Silicon, Catalyst would be a great way to introduce more users to their apps.

Catalyst requires the app developer to choose to port it. It takes some effort. If the app is well-written, it shouldn't take much effort, but it does take effort.

iOS-on-Apple-Silicon is pure "running the iOS app natively" - no effort from the developer needed at all.

And some apps just don't lend themselves to being Catalyst apps - apps that are based on multitouch on-screen elements, for example.
