Ntfs - 3g - to mac

My external hard drive is not talking with my MAC PRO as stated above, NTFS-3G as my hard drive is pinned for a PC...

Someone on here recommended some good software for 10 days but the license ran out, I have since deleted the file by mistake and can not remember the name...

Can someone kindly on here suggest free software that will enable me to happily uplaod and delete my files..
 
I personally use the Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X software. I have done a lot of research, and there does not appear to be freeware that will do anything close to what you want it to do. Paid software is the only way to go.

I agree. Paragon is what I would recommend to anyone.

Why can't you use NTFS-3G? You were really unclear about that.

AFAIK, that is the only free solution.

Although if you just want to "upload and delete" your files between two computers, Windows and Mac, you could just set up file sharing over your network.
 
I just bought a Toshiba external last week and it came with an OS X NTFS driver. Maybe see if someone you know has one of these drives?

I can't afford to buy Paragon, my trial has run out and nothing free online. ??

Any ideas?

Mac OS X can only read NTFS drives natively, but writing is possible via several methods. NTFS (Windows NT File System)
  • Read/Write NTFS from native Windows.
  • Read only NTFS from native Mac OS X [*]To Read/Write/Format NTFS from Mac OS X, here are some alternatives:
    • For Mac OS X 10.4 or later (32 or 64-bit), install Paragon ($19.95) (Best Choice for Lion and later)
    • For Mac OS X 10.5 and later, including Lion, FUSE for OS X
    • For 32-bit Mac OS X, install NTFS-3G for Mac OS X (free) (does not work in 64-bit mode)
    • Some have reported problems using Tuxera (approx $36), which is an enhanced version of NTFS-3G with faster performance.
    • Native NTFS support can be enabled in Snow Leopard and later versions, but is not advisable, due to instability.
  • AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support NTFS
  • Maximum file size: 16 TB
  • Maximum volume size: 256TB
  • You can use this format if you routinely share a drive with multiple Windows systems.

What he's saying is that the correct software you need depends on the Operating System you are running, but it looks to me like Fuse will work on almost every recent version of OS X, so you might as well try Fuse. He has the link in his post.

Forget about NTFS-3G, I forgot it is 32-bit only. It has been so long since I used it.

Do you just need a temporary NTFS read/write solution?

If so, then get a free trial for either Paragon or Tuxera. You likely used one or the other already, so just figure out which one you've used in the past and install the free trial for the other one.

If you need a longer-term solution, then you must buy one of them.

You don't have to be a "techy" to read and comprehend my post. Just take your time and read each line. If you click the NTFS-3G link in my post, it takes you directly to a page with a download link. However, your best bet is still to install Paragon.
