Hello. I am trying to mount for Read/Write a NTFS Volume.

I have read install guides at several websites, but the syntax of various terminal commands has changed resulting in repeated failure.

For example, it appears that the MacFuse is the correct package name instead of Fuse or OSXFuse, but several of the guides still reference the older names.

Another website mentioned needing to run some reference cask, but cask couldn't be found, and when I dropped it from the command line, it work. Bu, invariable, I get to the same dead end: NTFS-3g has been disabled because it requires FUSE.

But, FUSE is not the official name. And, Homebrew does not seem to be update with the correct names.

Does anybody have the correct syntax to get this working?

Thanks!

Have you looked at Paragon NTFS for Mac?
Thanks for the reply.

I probably should seeing as I am sitting in front of 13 external drives, most being NTFS. But I might still would rather put the $20 toward a new drive.

Kind of frustrating...first Mac since 2011 MacAir...and did not know this was still an issue.

You can enable write access via the terminal following this description.

Thanks Slartibart!

The first command syntax appears to be more accurate. But, when I run "brew install ntfs-3g", I get the same error:

Error: ntfs-3g has been disabled because it requires FUSE!

It is as if the the program is looking for FUSE, but the app is no called MacFuse (brew install --cask macfuse)

I read over the comments, and others are having similar challenges. Crazy!

Thanks for trying!

People just WON'T read.

Homebrew no longer supports FUSE, the application on macOS is no longer open source. There is a cask for it, and there are other repositories for it, but it will no longer be included in core per the Homebrew maintainers. <shrug>
