Hi. I am buying an iPhone in America next week and plan on unlocking it and using it here in the uk. Is there a way to change the American number formatting to that of the uk? If not, will I still be able to dial and txt European numbers? I think I've seen somewhee that I can change the formatting in address book on my Mac? Will this change it on the iPhone? Thanks!

You can change a lot of it. I have a US phone, and I've been able to change the date format without a problem.

I've always stored my phone numbers in the + 'country code' format, so I'm not sure if you'll run into any problems by not doing it that way. It seems to recognise country codes. For example, Ireland is +353, and it separates that from the rest of the number the same as it does for +44 and +1 even though they are all different lengths.

Every once in a while something American crops up like defaulting to $ for currency, but I can't remember exatly where.

If you use a Mac, it will get much of its settings from your Address Book.
