would you like to see number pad on the 17" MBP keyboard?

there is enough space if the speaker grills were moved or made smaller and it would make it easier to use.

when i move from my Powermac to the new MBP i will be getting i will miss the full size keyboard

2 reasons why thats a bad idea.

1) it looks terrible. I've yet to see a pc notebook with number pad that didn't look retarded because of it. yes, that is subjective, but few people will argue that it would be as elegant a design with the keyboard spanning the entire width of it.

2) if there were a keypad there, the rest of the keyboard would have to be shifted to the right instead of being in the center; not very ergonomic.

it's a laptop; it's not going to feel like using a PowerMac with a full size keyboard and mouse because it isn't a PowerMac with a full size keyboard and mouse. besides, you can always have a dedicated keyboard and mouse for your MBP set up at your desk, so when you use it at home it's no different. thats what I do.
