I’m just learning how to use Apple Numbers on my MacBook Pro. I’m creating a database of my library of songs (screenshot below). I would like to know if the following can be done and if so, how to do so;

1) I would like to add a simple column that has check boxes in order to check and/or uncheck as I’m playing music.

2) I would like to give each column a name such as Song Title, Artist, Genre and so on. It would be nice if I could do this by simply replacing the letter A, B, C, D and so on at the top with the names.

3) Can the first column of numbers be eliminated? I don’t need them.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Have not been a big user of Numbers, but, basically similar to all other spreadsheets out there.

Re #2: Row 1, can just add titles there. Or, add a row above and enter titles there.

Re #3: select that column (select A) and can delete that.

As for checkboxes, add a row and do this:

If you click outside the spreadsheet the left column of row numbers and the top row of column identifiers go away. You can still scroll if you hover over the spreadsheet and use the trackpad or Magic Mouse.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you that helped me out! Everything went well along with being straight forward. I have a loaded 2016 MacBook Pro which I purchased new when it first came out. I previously used Microsoft Access and just got into Numbers. I would have a long time ago but, I was unaware that it could make a database in similarity to Access. Thanks again for you help....... very much appreciated. Ray :)
