Numbers on AirPlay - Confused

Does anyone know what these numbers are on the airplay option on iOS??

Those mean that device is the 2nd or 7th device on the network to use that hostname. The addition of a number is a feature of Bonjour networking that Airplay uses to see other Airplay devices. What's causing it on your network are ghosts of your own devices not clearing themselves properly. When the device reconnects to your network or gets a new IP address, it see these ghosts and renames itself to not conflict with the ghost device. Harmless, yet annoying.

Oh ok! That's weird though... I don't know why there are 7 copies of that one. The Zach's one i understand because it's hooked up via ethernet and wireless, but 7? I logged into the router and there is only one instance of the Family room Apple TV.

I wouldn't expect so. I've had an ATV2 for 18 months, and for as long as I've owned it it has briefly woken up every fifteen minutes or so. I think (but don't know) that the Apple TV wakes up in order to renew/maintain its Bonjour registrations (for AirPlay and Bonjour Sleep Proxy).

It can't be bonjour. With apple routers, that task can just be passed to the router.

It can be Bonjour. The client (in this case the Apple TV) needs to periodically awaken in order to maintain its registrations with the Bonjour Sleep Proxy (either running on an Apple router, or on the ATV itself).

With Wake on Demand enabled, your Mac will occasionally wake for a brief time, without lighting the screen, in order to maintain registrations with the Bonjour Sleep Proxy. On some Macs, sounds from the optical drive, hard drive, or fans may be heard during these brief periods.

Maybe if you gave it a static ip or address reservation from your router it would go away. It can happen if you originally set it up wifi and then plugged Ethernet in and it is reconnecting because Ethernet cuts out for some reason.
