Hey guys, i tried posting on here recently, but only received one reply. I Bought a GTX 660 ti recently after reading how well it works with the newest OSX Yosemite. I used the card for about a week or two running amazing on my 2009 Mac pro 4,1. I wake my computer after it was on all night, like usual and i have NO signal coming out of the video card. Everything is running fine, the fans smooth and when i put in the Original Nvidia Card to test if the machine was okay everything worked fine. I put in the Nvidia card with the other card together, and Sys Info reads the card and nothing seems out of the normal it was just working fine, didn't take it out since i purchased the card! Anyone know if i should reinstall Yosemite? I also tried installing the newest Nvidia card drivers and still no luck ):

I can't find drivers for this Nvidia GTX 660 ti Card. I can pick-up this card for $155.00, but I've held back buying it because I see no Mac Drivers for it.

I had problems with this card as well, black screen after running Luxmark. Reboots did not fix the problem. Took it out replaced with another video card. Power up, then turned Nvidia Web Drivers back on, shutdown, put 660ti back in and then it worked again. Seems the 600 series cards are infamous for random black screen of deaths from what Ive read.

Wow really? I have never come across a thread like that here, I've searched for days! Do you know what good AMD card I could possibly buy for my mac pro that is up to par with the 660TI?

I wouldnt lose faith in the 660ti, has it 2x6 pin connectors?
Why I ask is mine had an 8 pin connector, but I just plugged in 2x6 so I thought that could be my problem. Also it was OC and a 3gb version, so not reference design.

Mine is the EVGA 660 ti 2gb standard one Im going to try to reinstall Yosemite maybe that'll reset the driver issues!

I don't see it showing support for the 660, the 680 is Supported.
Unlike AMD, NVIDIA's drivers are universal and they work for all GeForce, Quadro, and even Tesla models. There were reports that some video ports may not work for GTX6XX cards in Yosemite. So try other video ports when one is not working.

Thanks xcodeSyn, so if I try a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 ti that I can get for $90, these drivers will work in most cases?

I have a Mac Pro 2007 and I plan on puting 10.9 as a starter. So I don't want to buy a card that will not work

I have a friend with a G5 with the same looking tower, after I do my Mac Pro, I'm planing on helping him install Maverick or maybe 10.7. I have not look to see if he has AGP or PCIe yet.

I am thankful for any input

Using the native drivers of Mavericks, the GTX 650ti should work without any problem, and you should read this NVIDIA FAQ thread for more info.

Please don't waste your time installing Mavericks on a G5, it won't work as indicated here. Snow Leopard and later OS X versions are only for Intel Macs, not for PowerPC Macs.

Thanks so much, I did pick-up the GTX 650ti today and been reading from that thread. Nice go info here, I'm glad I joined the MacRumors
