On my 10.8.4 mac pro 5.1, I have the evga gtx 680 mac edition. Should I stick with the built in 680 support or use Nvidia's web driver? I have the Nvidia cuda driver already installed. Any opinions?

I would go with the Nvidia web drivers. In system preferences you can choose between built-in drivers or Nvidia and then reboot to take effect.

I would say go with the Web Drivers as well.

I have had an issue with the Web Drivers when exporting from iMove. I believe is the Web Driver from Nvidia as I swapped over to the Default Driver, and re-exported the same movie without issue.
Swapped back to the Web Driver and attempted to export again, and again machine restarted after almost finishing the export.

If you do experience a machine restart then swap over and see if still have the issue.

The beauty of the new web driver is that it no longer overwrites Apple's OS Nvidia drivers. And, as been said above the driver now installs a new System Preference Pane that allows you to choose which driver to use, it is no longer either/or. The Preference Pane also gives you the option to show the Driver/Manager in the menu bar. This is a big improvement. I use the Nvidia's web drivers.

I thought the biggest advantage of the nVidia web drivers was that it enables PCI-E 2.0 transfer speeds (i.e. kicks it into high gear, so to speak) @ 5.0GT/sec transfer speeds for non-EFI Cards. Useful for Texture copying, CUDA, etc...

Since his card is already a "Mac Edition" with the proper EFI, shouldn't the card already be running at 5.0GT/sec speeds? As mentioned, some have had issues with the Webdrivers doing some unexpected things (due to bugs) with certain softwares....

As stated above, you can indeed install the nVidia Webdrivers, and are then boot-time software selectable. Might be your best bet - and therefore have the option to flip back to the Apple Drivers if you run into any issues.

I'm back to using Apples built in drivers for my gtx680 mac edition on 10.8.4. I play GW2 on OSX all the time and I noticed that the web drivers cause a lot micro-stutter in that game where the Apple drivers do not.
