Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows the difference in weight between the nylon bands and sport bands.

I also wonder if the Nike Sport Bands will be the lightest given the holes they have in those. But I wasn't that interested in the Nike Watch to begin with.

Thanks for your info in advance!

I own both and can weigh them when I get home, but I'm pretty certain the nylon band weighs less. The hardware is so light I almost didn't believe it was metal, and the fabric part is definitely less than the thick rubber of the sport band. The exact difference will depend on whether you are measuring the small, medium, or large sport band though. As for the Nike band with holes, I think even with all that material punched out it will still weigh more unless it's also made of different material. The pin itself is a big part of the weight.

The current sport bands are quite a bit heavier than the nylon ones (at least it feels like they are). I imagine the nike sports band will be a little bit lighter than the regular sports band but still not as light as the nylon.

My Woven Nylon 42mm is 12g, Orange Sport Band 42mm S/M is 28g, original Green Sport Band S/M is 30g.

Thanks for this - that's very helpful!

So there really is a significant difference. In the future...if sleep tracking exists on the watch, it seems nylon may be the best option!

I have the Link Bracelet, Milanese Loop, Leather Loop and the Sport Band, but the Nylon Band is probably my favorite. It's lightweight and very comfortable. IMO, the Black and Pearl are probably the most versitale bands you can own. I feel that you can wear them in both casual and dressy occasions (except for black tie) because they look that nice.

It's also the only Apple band where I feel that the price is justified, especially when you compare the quality to the third-party nylon bands.

Got mine today - you're right it's really really good. Light weight and comfy. I may try some third party ones to see what they're like though!

I've mentioned them previously, but check out Clockwork Synergy. Their NATO bands are pretty nice, though a bit more casual that the Apple nylon bands. They have many colors and stripe patterns/combinations...

They're priced around $30 but they seem to run a lot of 10-15-20% sales.
