I was hoping that the NYT had an iPad application so that I can read it on my iPad. I was disappointed to see that it did not, other than the Editor's choice. any one know if they are coming out with one?

I'm pretty sure there is a NYT app coming. In the meanwhile, just use Safari.

Apple and the New York Times are currently having a disagreement over the price of a subscription and more importantly how much money apple gets form that. The NYT's doesn't really want to give them anything from my understanding..

But we'll see. Time Magazine has them on an individual issue basis currently. I would want a subscription but I digress..

I think USA today content is only free on the iPad for a while. Then they are switching to a paid model.

I think the NYT has announced even their web site is going to a paid model sometime later this year.

Seems like all these content providers are going to use the iPad release to try and institute a pay for content model.

I am Ok with the paid model for some things. But all depends on the the cost. I have had a WSJ online account for years. Seems like it is just $40 per year or something like that (pretty reasonable). BUt the rumor is WSJ for iPad is going to be $17 per month. Wow pretty steep.

I like the editors choice app a lot. Something about less is more and the new papery layout combined with touch the story to read the rest. At the very least it is a good starting point.

I really like AP News app... they stopped trying to make their app looks like a "newspaper" rather they make it like a scrapbook. BBC News is great too :)
