Very interesting!

My G4 definitely can seem washed out at times and struggle with focus, just like the shootout said. It can also capture detail and is VERY colour accurate (the flash is brilliant too).

Great read.

Interesting read but not much in the way of capturing moving objects, especially small children! I find it can focus slowish sometimes our not quite grasp the shot as well as the S6.

The other thing is the S6's physical button and double tap combo means I can have the camera ready before I finished taking it from my pocket. The OP2's a bit harder to get it ready to shoot so swiftly despite having double tap to open the camera. Small margins but it can mean the difference between getting the shot or not.

I'm using/comparing both at the moment but can't pixel peep on a computer for a few days yet.

a better place
I have read that the camera has issues and some report bad performance / stutters and lag when launching and using the camera. Have you noticed anything like that @spriter ?

It's more launching it using the home button which I find very inconsistent. So much so that I've reverted to using the icon. All buttons can be configured for double tap and long press but the home feels more naturally located than the other two.

The actual app is OK if a little too simple for my liking. For example, rather than having to swipe open a menu then tap video, then tap to start, I much prefer the S6 style with the video button readily available and recording after a single tap. It does seem to refocus every now and then during video. That said I have experienced some focus issues on the S6 (ISOCELL) where I've ended up with an out of focus shot or had to tap and delay the shot so neither are perfect.

Still awaiting the Pro Mode update to see how that works out. I like the S6 for at least being able to kill the ISO on low light shots when auto send to over compensate with 800. Maybe I'll give FV-5 a try.

Still certainly room for improvement on the OP2, though.
