In London, it went down suddenly for almost 2 hours. This is not a rare occurance. When it comes to upgrading, I'm getting my phone on Vodafone.

I'm applying for an O2 unlock and going with vodafone. According to their forum, all data plans include tethering.![]()
Good luck with that. I asked recently just in case they had changed their stance, but got a big fat NO.
Anybody succeeded with O2 unlatching their phone ?
Really? Not according to the O2 boss...

I noticed the downtime today too.
omg 2 Hours Downtime.
It was done on purpose as well I'm sure.
Nah, they have a crap netowrk, even Mathew Key said so, he should know ;-)

I bet it was done at such an "inconvient time" like 12:30 at night where all you data hungry mongols were munching away bandwidth :/. Networks have ti be worked on you know and God for bid you don't have service for 2 hours just sck it up.
It all depends on who you talk to within O2. In most cases you get to talk to the monkey not the organ grinder.
Remember their exclusivity ends on the 10th, so that is the time they will be unlocking iphones, if you are out of contract that is.
I wouldn't mind if it was just a case where it needed to be worked on and that's it, but as I said in the first post, it's not a rare occurrence, it happens far too often, and it's been getting worse in recent months.
What else can they do?
What they're doing now - continue to massively underinvest in network provision and watch it fall apart over and over again, and then panic wildly when their exclusivity ends.

You make it sound like the sky is falling, I've had no day where the data network was down.
I remember a few hours of downtime one day in late August. Can't say Iv'e noticed any downtime here up North!
