Hey

Just thought I would share this bit of news with you folk, don't know if anyone is in the same boat as me. Basically my 18 month iPhone 3G contract is up and was away to upgrade to the 3GS but O2 were asking me for £189 in store for the phone on my tarrif! Now, Im a huge fan of the website Hotukdeals.com and a few people on there have said that if you phone up O2 directly they could strike you a deal. Phoned them up on monday basically threatening them I was leaving them for Vodaphone (HA!) and the nice guy offered me a FREE iPhone 3GS on the same 35 a month tarrif I'm on. Saving me £189 !!! Im not the only one who's done this, a few people I've heard have done it.

So if anyone is thinking about upgrading to the 3GS give O2 a phone directly, might save you some money!!

Cheers

Nice one, that's a great saving!!

My contract ends in May, so I think I'll probably hold out the extra month and a bit and hope for a new iPhone.

You maybe saving, but are you then not signing up to another 18 month contract and therefore not free to get the new iPhone 4g in June 2010?

Don't forget that O2 are unlocking contract phones. Selling a 3G and a 3GS, both unlocked, should go a long way towards funding an iPhone V4.

I like your thinking!

I was planning on selling my 3G and putting it towards a new iMac! I've been with O2 for years so im dead happy with them. I've searched eBay and selling my 16gb 3G would make me roughly £200 ?!? so if another iPhone does come out I could always just buy it sim free like you said
