I changed my old £75 a month tarriff + unlimited text bolt on to their new " cheaper" £60 a month tarriff unlimited everything. So I cancelled my text bolt on

easy right makes sense

er NO

02 the thieving rats have changed things.
So yes I have unlimited texts but instead of a mms picture message costing 4 of your allowance it is now costing 20p each.

I am busy sending loads of these mms and after a very long call to Canada decide to check my " recent charges"

I couldn't understand what was going on until I read their new tarriff carefully

But yes. I saved 15 a month. Lost my bolt on which I can't get back and am now paying more than 15 a month in mms.

Thanks for the transparency o2.

Just thought I would warn.

Sorry to hear m8t, it's been like this since they introduced the new tariff's they should have notified you of this so maybe a complaint letter might be in order to them.

I agree if you were not informed via email, post or phone call that theres a teriff change you should be able to have grounds for a refund for the mms messages

I realised this before it was able to sting me, it's rather annoying as it was a good swap, in terms of 4 text for a picture message. As well as when abroad in Europe (don't know about other areas), if you had a certain number of text messages, a text from there would cost 4 text messages, when now I think they are going to charge. It shows why they are suddenly offering unlimited texts with basically all of their plans!

all the networks do this now, but since you have unlimited data I'd consider using email instead

They didn't have much choice. If they stuck with 1 MMS = 4 SMS, then by having unlimited texts, you'd also have unlimited MMS

If you didn't check the tariff details when you changed then I'd say that's your fault, not O2's. You can't expect them to tell you every detail and call charge when you change plans.

I think I've sent 3 MMS messages since iPhone 3.0 was introduced. I just prefer sending email. Especially as my friends either have iPhones or BlackBerries.

I'm on the "original" £35, 24month tariff, i.e. 600 min 500 texts and unlimited data.

On hearing of the "new" tariff with unlimited texts I 'phoned O2 with a view to changing to the latest tariff. I was advised that if I sent any number of MMS's I should stick to the original contract - which I obviously did!

The moral of this story is always check out the facts before making a decision and don't blame O2 of you make the wrong one!

This has always been the case with there unlimited text deals mate. i'm on one atm. i was paying the £35 a month one with 600 mins and 400 texts i think, i had two bolt ons for unlimted O2 to O2 calls and unlimited texts so i got like 100 mms messages in my bundle.

I recently switched to there simplicity deal i get 1200 texts 600 mins and i kept my unlimited text bolt on so i pay £27.50 and get more MMS messages and unlimited texts.
