I am using the note 3 and with power save on I don't see how it has 15 hours of battery life

JPGs or it didn't happen.

I have a note 3 and here are my battery stats for today and it just happens it has been on for 15hrs with over 50% battery left.

I think he meant can't see how it got 15 hours 'screen on' time.

I get around 3-4 hours screen on time during my 15 hour day of the phone being on battery and im usually down to 40-50% battery remaining.

I do think it would be impossible to get 15 hours screen on without an extended battery or a spare or two.

If you have lots of Apple hardware that doesn't constitute being a fan boy. It's just someone with apple products. Now if you were hijacking forums and spend all your spare time poopooing other devices and people's choices with a abandonment of common sense and a heart full of bile and vitriol then 'that' would make you a fan boy.

Having lots of apple products just means you have a close ecosystem for sharing between devices. Not having to repurchase apps on different stores twice, have different user experiences because one platform works differently. It also means all your devices play nice together.

I do miss the fact that I can no longer user airplay with my phone to output games or photos/videos quickly with my Apple TV for example.

So don't lament having all apple products it certainly isn't something to be bothered about and especially be bothered about what other people on forums think.

That being said, i don't regret purchasing the note 3 either, it gives me as much pleasure using it as the joy i got from my first couple of iphones before a bit of boredom crept in.

Do none of the apps in the play store mirror the airplay functionality?

Miracast will be included in 4.4 for all devices. So there's your Airplay. You will be able to mirror games, the homescreen, etc.

I was referring to the multiple apps on the play store that say they can stream over air play to Apple TVs.

Twonky Beam works with my WDTV Live and they say it works with Apple TV. Try it out and see.

I know of a couple of apps that deliver the AirTunes feature.

The play store apps send video or photos but don't exactly mirror in the same way as airplay. Also even with 4.4 miracast support won't send to Apple TV so that point is moot to what I was saying in my post.

I think I can beat that. I'm at 51% after 1 day 9 hours with 2hr58mins screen on time so far...... I love battery life on this and standby drain is excellent.

...and the screen has been on for less than two hours and it's been in your pocket or laying around for 13 hours, that's not impressing anyone.

Most of the screen time was for watching 720p or 1080p movies with the screen set at 60-70 %.

The fact that I was on wifi most of the time, probably helped.

Great battery capacity

I think the battery capacity of the Note 3 is pretty amazing.

It is far better than any smartphone I have ever had - right now I have 45% left after close to 24 hours since it was last fully charged.

I have not done any heavy use today, but I have listened to a couple of albums on Spotify, read/written some work-related e-mails, surfed and facebooked a bit in addition to a couple of phone calls and some texting.

Even with much heavier use (including Netflix) I have yet to run out of battery during the day.

The battery life on Note 3 is pretty spectacular.

I can go for 40-48 hours uptime with SCREEN ON (i.e. actual active use) of 6+ hours before it ran out of juice. This is with 4G and most every settings on.

~10% drop per hour of screen on time, 15% if using 4G data intensively.
~0.5-1% per hour standby battery use.

Getting around 6.5 hours of screen on time and charge every other day with my Note 3. And the option to swap out the battery and have 100% charge in under 10 seconds.. phenomenal.
