OCD Alert! What is up Instagram?

I know its silly and doesn't effect the app usage, but why hasn't Instagram made a flat icon to match the iOS 7/8 look? Curious to know if anyone has any insight or heard anything about this. I can't be the only one it irks

At some point last year they said that's their icon and they weren't planning on changing it (especially if it was just to fit in with some particular new OS design at the time).

I can't see this changing since they're just not on the iOS platform. I actually can't see many of the 3rd party app developers doing this since most have cross platform apps.

But many developers have platform-specific looks and feel to it.
