OCD :P Tagging imported iTunes movies as they are on the iTunes store?

I have done some searches, but can't seem to find anything. A lot of articles I've read are quite dated and was wondering if something recent has been developed to get the identical iTunes movie tags to imported movies for use with AppleTV 2?

I obsess a little over organization and would like to have a consistent archive, but Meta X does not provide this, and the manual process is very time consuming.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Does Subler derive the tag associated with the iTunes store and write it to an imported movie?

I'm the same way. If the movie is available in iTunes, I want the descriptions iTunes provides. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any program to do this. I asked a question a while back if anyone knew where iTunes gets their metadata from, but no one seemed to know. I just end up having iTunes open alongside Meta-X and end up doing it manually. It can be time consuming though, as you mentioned.

It all depends the amount of time you want to put into this. You can litterally waste days doing this. I use subler to fine-tune my movie tags but 99% of the time I use a paid software called iFlicks. http://www.iflicksapp.com/

It does the job and saves me an enormous amount of time.

Agreed with iFlicks. It's about as close to the iTunes Store metadata as your are going to get.

So Many

I think the problem is you have so many and none of them seem to do it all. You have:

MetaX
Subler
iFlicks
iDentify

just to name a few. None of these seem to tag it all or have all the features to change all Meta data. and to confuse it even more there are version of software that run on a windows PC that have even different options.

I have all several of them to get to the data i wanted changed. But mostly stick with MetaX as my favorite.

Ive been using the "How-to: Automating DVD & Blu-Ray..." mac programs for tagging my m4vs. Theres alot of different things you can do with the automator scripts it installs, but the "Batch Rip - Add Movie Tags" works pretty well. Ive had a few movies that for some reason don't show up as anything, but its really straight forward with no real work or thinking. You can use subler to edit things like the posters or whatever.
